It is obvious that the "anonymous" reviews, where the writer has no profile and has taken a current employees identity, are the work of a disgruntled former employee.
All care homes/providers are registered with Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) who regularly and independently inspect and publish reports on their website. They are available for all to see and provide an unbiased reflection.
You will see that our reports are excellent and raise no concerns. We have been providing care for over seventeen years and have not been placed in special measures or had limitations imposed in that time.
I would suggest that anyone with a genuine concern should raise it with us directly and not hide behind anonymous and recently fabricated profiles, the transparent intention of which is to cause problems.
I am happy to share with you the testimonials received from our service users, who are after all the people best qualified to comment.
My door is always open and I am happy to meet with anyone at anytime, I have been in post at The Priory for over seventeen years and have never had a concern raised in this time. A pretty good track record within the care sector I'm sure you'd agree.
Best wishes, Scott McHattie. Registered Manager/Company Director. No anonymity required and using my real name.
PS: It's DINING not DINNING.

Having worked here now for just over 3 months as the Accounts Manager I can honestly say that The Priory Care Home is one of the only homes I would consider letting my family members stay in. The care provided here is brilliant and goes above and beyond expectation. We not only have a wonderful team of employees some of which have been here over decade, but we have many residents who have called this place home since before the Millennium. This to me proves that The Priory Care home is not only a wonderful place to work but a great Residential and Nursing home. I'd highly recommend to anyone considering a care home.

My great aunt lived here for the latter years of her life and she received the highest quality care. The staff were professional and the setting is beautiful, surrounded by the Wye Valley. The home being family run contributes to its success, the management team highly involved in the care setting and friendly atmosphere.
Would definitely recommend!

This is a stunningly beautiful home in a stunning location looking up the Wye valley from above Llandogo. The home has extensive patio areas and lounges so that residents and visitors can sit out and enjoy the amazing views. The staff are dedicated and hard working and when the weather was bad in the winter, even slept over on a number of nights to look after the residents ensuring their safety at all times. This dedication and professionalism is unmatched and it is not uncommon that staff who aren't as dedicated do not last here as they have a hard act to follow.
The recent inspection report says it all. This is what Care Inspectorate Wales said in their ‘overall assessment’ last time out:
“Staff engage with residents in a manner that is generally warm and friendly. The rights of people who may lack mental capacity to make decisions regarding their care and/or welfare are respected. People’s nutritional needs are promoted, and they are treated with respect. People are appropriately supervised, and their individual needs are anticipated”.
That is coming from an inspector who knows what they are talking about and looking at.
If you are looking for a Nursing or residential care home, all I would advise you is to get up to The Priory and see it for yourselves. You will not be disappointed,

We as a company have done work for the Priory since the beginning of time, we have also known all the family for a very long time and we can honestly say that they run the Priory Care Home with very high standards, providing excellent accommodation. Looking out for and caring for all the residents is paramount to them all.
If in any doubt please make a visit to them even to just sit in their beautiful surroundings and see for yourselves just what is offered at this great place. You would be made most welcome by all Management and wonderful caring Staff.

After visiting this lovely home due to my Mum needing care we felt that this is the best place we have viewed so far. The manager Scott is passionate with regards to the care they provide and the staff seem willing to go that extra mile to help the residents. Lovely surroundings as well as the interior and facilities that are provided which is important when deciding on your loved ones final years. The rates were very competitive and altogether it was a pleasure to have the chance to meet everyone as now I will have peace of mind that my Mum is going to be extremely well looked after and happy. I don’t understand how someone can truthfully leave a negative review of this place so I’m going to presume that an anonymous negative feedback is from a former member of staff that couldn’t live up to the high standards that this home achieves. My Mum prefers fresh grapes rather than sour ones.

Excellent place to work and care for people.
Full support from other carers, seniors, nursing staff and definately management!
If it wasn't for distance I would have carried on my employment within the priory, which management fully supported my travel commitments. Also the company were willing to push me further to where I wanted to be
Care staff go out and beyond to make residents happy and to fully support people within their last moments, also offering support to their families. The best care home I have ever worked in by far, and by far the best care the elderly could recieve from all aspects of the staff!!!

I attend this care home regularly to do the residents hair and just sit and chat with them.

I have to say, the food is amazing and all cooked fresh. The staff are friendly and go above and beyond to ensure the residents are happy and well cared for.

The owner (Scott) is always looking for ways to improve they’re services and entertainment for the residents. And ensure they’re stay is as happy and stimulating as possible for them.

One of the nicest care homes I’ve been too.
All the residents say they are very happy there too. So big thumbs up from me 👍
