Having visited a relative in Plas y Dderwen several times recently I have been suitably impressed and thought it right to write a review. The staff are attentive to the residents needs and make sure they are comfortable at all times. The interaction between staff and residents is second to none and it is like having extended family for the residents which gave us as a family peace of mind. Meal times are excellent with plenty of nourishing meals available that is always cooked to perfection.

The home has a warm welcoming feel to it and my uncle was happy and comfortable whilst staying there. No matter what staff Member you ask whether carer, nurse or manager nothing was too much trouble.

As a family we would highly recommend this home.

I’m a regular visitor at Plas Y Dderwen and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. Residents are treated with respect and the staff work extremely hard to ensure their home is a happy place to be. Management are approachable and are visible about the home interacting with staff and residents and are regularly joining in to provide activities for the residents. Keep up the excellent work

Excellent nursing home. They are a person centred nursing home who will do that little bit extra to ensure their residents are cared for. My great grandmother recently resided there and due to Covid restrictions we were unable to visit. The management ensured we were kept informed of my grandmother’s health and well-being and they could not have been more helpful and professional. I would recommend this nursing home to anyone requiring such a service.

Upon visiting this beautiful home I was greated with many happy faces and respect. It was such a lovely atmosphere. The resident that I came to visit was so content and happy with everything that this home can accommodate with and all of the helpful staff. The manager has been and still is always readily available for any questions that I may have to ask. I extremely recommend this home. Fantastic time visiting! Thankyou!

My 2nd Nigel cousin was admitted to Plas Y Dderwen, Johnstown, Carmarthen upon leaving hospital.
The care he received was second to none. I found the staff friendly and helpful at all times.
Nothing was too much trouble for them.

My 2 pugs also visited and they were taken around the home to visit other clients by the staff.
They were welcomed on a daily basis.

The food was also excellent on a daily basic with a good choice.
The dining room although not used by my cousin was always welcoming.

I cannot thank them enough for the care the staff provided until his last breath.

Nerys a member of the care staff was amazing towards us both on what turned out to be his last night.
I will always be grateful for the understanding given to me .

I'd like to thank all the staff there who looked after my father, John Williams, in his final months. I'm sure he was a handful at times when his dementia got the better of him. I'd especially like to thank the staff member who was with him during his last night. Knowing he was not alone is comforting.
