Southampton Water View Point

It's the place to be if you want to view the coming and goings within the Port of Southampton. All the cruise liners can be seen and photographed from here. Also you can see the impressive container ships which pass you so close! You can watch the Isle of Wight and Hythe ferries as they arrive and leave throughout the day. There is also fishing in some parts. No visit to Southampton can be complete without vising here.
There is parking but very limited during daytime hours and a lot are privately leased so recommend parking elsewhere. It's free to visit and to fish, whatever the time of day or night.

Very good location for watching ships arriving and departing Southampton docks. Best place for photos of cruise liners ect. Limited pay parking. No toilets. Starbucks Coffee shop short walk. Free fishing.

Everything is permit-holder only but an extremely gorgeous view across Southampton Harbour, arguably the best without visiting the actual dockyard.

Mid as far as piers go, not enough benches. This waterfront space is largely underutilized and could definitely use a rethink.
