Worst Landlord ever. Very hungry for money, will use anything against tenants to try and take what they have. Do not under any circumstances rent property from these people

James Gutteridge is a crook! This man should have gone to prison a long time ago for what he does in his buildings now for decades. I was a tenant for 8yrs and we never met him, he only emailed or called and this man cannot be right in his mind, you will realise that once u signed the tennancy. Until then he will be nice as pie over the phone. Out of those 8yrs five of them the entire building breached fire regulations, I called the fire marshall and he was going to close the building down immediately. They gave him 6 weeks to put it right and he eventually did. I had to liquidate one of the biggest brands in the beauty industry with 50 people losing their jobs due to this man. He is now trying to rent my old unit at Zenith House 155 Curtain Road fully well knowing that there is a huge crack in the concrete ceiling that never stopped leaking the entire 8yrs I was there. This is a very dangerous landlord, I did a 12k refurb to move in and when I was thinking about leaving he got some random person to give me dilapidations of over 40k. If u leave a deposit with this man you will never see it. He has a team of crooks that backs up his claims who all work for him and ultimately he will get u in, take u for everything u have, raise your rent in his mid term rent review and destroy your business. His contractors will blame u for the things that are not right in the building and make u pay for it and the invoices are phenomenal. This man needs to be investigated both criminally and by HMRC. I took him to court once and we realised he was not even a director of his own company at the time! His son who has no part in the games his father plays but has the same name, so Gutteridge senior uses that name as cover. James Gutteridge is the perfect example of why commercial renting needs regulation. If you are even thinking about renting from this man go and speak to any of his tenants first and they will let u know exactly what this Criminal landlord is about! As a tenant under this landlord not only is your business at risk but so are your customers. Stay well away! You have been warned!

Since Davinia and her brother took over managing the property we were renting from the company it became a beautiful experience. The property was promptly repaired and Davinia in particular was very understanding and accommodating. She happily extended my contract and was patient till I found an alternative accommodation. Thank you very much. I will definitely recommend you to friends and family.

We have rented Commercial Space from J W Gutteridge for over 20 years in their Davina House property. Lanlords (often with good reason) don't have the best reputations but J W Gutteridge are one of the exceptions. We dealt personally with Mr. Gutteridge for 19 years, we got to know him very well. He was an honest, hard working, fair-minded man with a strong moral code and a personable approach. We were very sad when he died just over a year ago. We now deal with his daughter, Davina. Like her father Davina is carrying on the company ethos of competitively priced rents, an open, equitable and warm relationship with her tenants. The property itself, Davina House is in an older style which we love. We are very much at home in our office and the communal areas (including kitchen) are clean, tidy and well maintained, and the manager is always on hand to assist. I strongly recommend this company.

I loved it. I was there from 2013 till this week July 2020 Sad to leave. The owners and staff have always been brilliant. Nothing too much trouble and always a good laugh. I hope one day I will be able to go back and get a bigger office. Thank you !!!
