Simon was able to come out to look at the job the same day we called and got a very reasonable quote to us that evening, which was more than three other highly-rated decorators were able to do. Having arranged a start date at short notice he turned up on time and immediately set to work on turning a house that was in a state after electrical chasing into something that already looked much healthier after the first day, easing our nerves about the whole renovation in the process. (If you could see the chases left in the wall before and after the patching and first coat of paint you’d think it was a different house with brand new walls).

Two days in he had already completed a large amount of work and we could start to see how things were coming together. Our electrician was over-running but Simon happily worked around him without any fuss. Any minor issues (that we or other things caused) were quickly dealt with for us and he always checked in with us about any details that weren’t clear or choices that cropped up, which was reassuring.

By the time the job was finished he’d turned the house from a building site into a finished home in exactly the style we wanted. He managed to do all this in the time he said and to a great standard, as well as taking on a couple of extra bits that cropped up from other work being done and sorting them out brilliantly.

I’m not an expert on painting and decorating and when people say “it’s amazing what a bit of paint can do” I’ve always been dubious, but Simon has proved that in the right hands a bit of paint (and all the other patching up he did) can indeed transform a house. Despite my lack of knowledge I am a very picky, fussy person and do notice little things, but there was absolutely nothing to complain about with Simon’s work and every detail was taken care of.

We would wholeheartedly recommend him and, if you need some decorating work done, you owe it to yourself to at least get him in to quote for you. Once you meet him and see his professional manner for yourself I’m confident you’ll take my advice and hire him for the job.
