I love this place a maze full of trees, always take our wellies to walk through the stream. Great for kids and adults alike. Thrre are two car park entrances to Swithland Woods this one to the south and another to the north. I come here in all weathers and seasons. In the summertime you can even have a picnic at the picnic tables located near the north car park. They have now started to charge for car parking but still a great alternative to Bradgate park.

Carpark for about 30 cars, coins only paying machine, £1 for 3h or £2 for all day.
3h is enough to walk all around, may path walkable with a pushchair. Picnic area does have a bench with no table, and a polished log used as sitting and eating. Old pit and quarry are fenced up. Tiny stream at the beginning of the trail visited in September .
We were done in less than 3h, had picnic (not in the picnic area). Nice walk through the forest with kids.

A great place, lovely short woodland walk to get lost in but not some where to walk for hours, more like 30-60mins.

Car park is fine and rarely full. Season ticket prices are better than the Park opposite. Rarely busy but popular with dog walkers.

Amazing woods 🪵, took my little girl here for the first time, she was excited and amazed by tall trees 🌳 was easy to park, can easily spend a few hours just walking the trail, some paths are abit hard for younger kids to walk but with abit of guidance they'll love it, would definitely recommend, the South car park is cash only or you can download the app (information is on the board in car park) 🚗 cheap for parking and free day out what's not to love. Would definitely be going back in the future
