Fantastic day today at the Platinum Jubilee Picnic there. Everyone was smiling & happy despite the lack of sun- at least it wasn't raining! Lol.
There were a good few bouncy castles for the kids surrounding the play area & stalls like tombola, raffle, hook a duck (gutted we arrived after that had finished 🤦‍♀️) & pin the jewel on the queen's crown! Lol. We won a set of lovely country jars going to use to make jam & a cute kitten notepad with pen. Just waiting for the call now to say we won the week's camping holiday which was first prize in the raffle lol! There were some lovely hand crafted & donated prizes at each stall.

The band there were so good! We arrived later and so were able to hear at the end an ABBA medley which had people dancing...well I was anyway 🤣 and the finale of the National Anthem. The conductor looked beautiful in a Jubilee dress & congratulations to the whole band I didn't hear one wrong note 🙌

There were the indoor separate ladies & gents toilets & a little cafe with some amazing cakes & I had a coffee for £1 which was really good!! You know how they're usually a bit weak& washy at these things lol but I had a sip & thought wow! Excellent brew!!
Had a great time, all the volunteers were so friendly & quite a few elderly people cleaning up and running things giving up their time & efforts which I was very grateful for & thought they need to have some younger volunteers too so il join for the next event. (Not that I'm calling myself young 🤣 just not a pensioner yet!).
Every credit to the organisers of a lovely event & its a well run little park with good facilities.

Great place to tire your kids and dogs out alike _ in need of modernisation the park but I believe that is on going and the skate park and multi purpose court along with 3 big open grass areas to walk around makes it well worth a visit

A great space for young and old. Playground for the kids and exercise equipment for older folk in a pleasant open space
