If an hour spare this is a beautiful and tranquil place to go ..no where to sit really, but it truly doesn't take long to walk around..its right next to Blackpool zoo and across from Stanley park just look for plenty of wild garlic..its good for you!

A peaceful woodland walk with native and exotic trees, little bridges over a stream, a picnic area and a military bunker left behind from World War II. The woodland floor is carpeted with wild flowers. A good place to spot birds, squirrels, butterflies, dragonflies and bats.

Gorgeous place to visit , free parking , huge expanse of grassed areas for the children to play , picnics , walks through the trees, historic house to visit , daily craft fairs, at least 3 cafés serving anything from a coffee / soft drink , home made cakes , pies to a full meal . Two are licenced. Plenty of toilets , outside tables / chairs in the courtyard . Dogs are welcome.
NB, house is unsuitable for disabled people due to stairs.
All in all a great place to visit .

After a wander round Stanley Park cross the road heading to the Zoo and you'll find Salisbury Wood. There is a Type 22 Pill Box (with Blue Plaque) there. The Zoo now occupies the site of the Stanley Park Aerodrome used in WW2. Peaceful short walk up and around the Zoo takes you back to Heron's Reach.

Lovely woodland area with many old trees, paths and small stream. Lots of birdlife in the Woodlands for birdwatchers to enjoy.

Beautiful tranquil woodland with well marked paths and nice picnic spots leads to back of the zoo one way and staining the other direction. The zoo path is great saw a stunning Tiger 🐅 and an Emu don't worry very high well enclosed fences probably more to see in the spring and summer months
