Always a beautiful walk. It leads on to the Itchen way which you can follow all the way to Winchester. It can be quite busy nearer the park and Sports Fields but the crowds depart the further down you go. In the Summer be sure to check out local Kayak hires. It's a great place for it!

A beautiful place to visit at anytime of the year.
It’s great to escape the hustle & bustle that’s happening not too far away.
Either park at Mansbridge (drive through the White Swan car park & park on the old road, either side of the pub) or park at Bitterne Park & start your walk from Cobden Bridge.
You can walk along the river & it’s tarmac so no mud, easy for wheelchairs, buggies & bikes.
Cross the road at Woodmill & continue along the river, or you can stop for refreshments at the cafe on Woodmill.
It’s point to point so wherever you leave your car you have to return more or less the same way but not a bad thing.

Great for a couple of hours walk near the river.

Lovely walk with a bonus of a coffee shop midway and a pub one end

Riverside and Woodmill is a lovely place to go for a walk, chill out, have a picnic, canoe or paddle board up and down the river.
It can get pretty busy on the pathway, but there are some quieter places dotted around.
A walk from Cobden bridge to the White Swann Pub should take around 45 minutes.

Shame that some people do not use the rubbish bins provided or take their litter home.

This is a great place for a walk alongside the River Itchen. It’s the other side of the road from the Woodmill area. It’s approximately half a miles walk that eventually takes you to The White Swan pub.
Plenty of ducks and swans along the way.
Enjoyable at any time of the year.
(Some of my photos were taken during the flooding)
