The Moor is wonderful and such a great local asset. I like this so much I'd like to buy a little house across the road on Railway Terrace, Bois Moor Road eventually and walk any future dog I may get on the Moor like so many others do.

The moor is an excellent place to go for walks with the river chess running adjacent to it and a small woodland walk running along the back. One of the must see spots is a small set of stepping stones leading from the woodland walk into the far corner of the Moor.
There is plenty of space for activities such as football and kite flying (weather permitting) and children have often caught small fish in the river too, so be sure to take your nets and pots and return the fish after.
Car parking is minimal, however there is a large free carpark about 500 yards from the main entrance.

The Moor is in a quiet location and has an open air pool with gym nearby. A playing field is on the other side of the river. Not a wide river or particularly fast flowing. Other paths lead to scenic places and start at the Moor. No public toilets available at the Moor. It's popular for dog walking and children who like to play football.

A really delightful part of rural peace and quiet so close to a busy commutet town. My walk down beside the Chess was so rewarding and idyllic in warm sunshine and my extended route up into the woods so quiet and tranquil. We are all very lucky to have these countryside gems on our doorstep, so be grateful and enjoy !

This is a really beautiful area for walkers and nature lovers. Just a short commute / drive away from the hustle and bustle of the city and you get this beautiful English countryside. This is part of the 'Chess Valley Walk'.
