A lovely open space with lots of greenery and plenty of seating. A relaxing area only a short distance removed from the busy High Street

Great open space. Kids love it as they can run around freely. There is dedicated space for bbq's. They are planning on closing one of the roads which will make the space nicer and connect all three fields.

Adventure playground alongside for kids to enjoy as well as a leisure centre with swimming pool. Further up you have tennis courts and a football/basketball court.

We usually go swimming and then spend time in the park.

Good location. Closest tube Highbury and Islington underground and plenty of buses.

No free parking except on weekends and evenings.

Very lucky to have this as my local park. It is a great place for a run or to walk the dog and meet other dogs/owners. Great to sit down for a picnic with friends or family too.

I must say, a lovely gem slightly hidden from the main street of Highbury. The playground has a relatively big sandpit, a splash area and a section for older kids to play. The rest of the field is well kept. Excellent place to gather for a picnic.

Great grass area in Islington, you would never believe busy Holloway Road is not far away.
You have the option of sitting in an enclosed field which is great if you have young children.
The larger open fields is popular with dog walkers and large groups.
Always clean and tidy a nice and relaxing area in the heart of London.

Not a very large but a pretty Islington park, surrounded by a mixture of impressive Georgian terraced houses and Victorian villas. Has public tennis courts, football pitches and a very good children's play area.

Highbury Fields is our local park/public green space. We spend lots of time there, walking, exercising, passing through en route to elsewhere. It’s not an especially large park (although I gather it’s the largest continuous outdoor space in the London Borough of Islington) and parts can get quite busy, but if you know where to go you can find some quiet space. There are tennis courts, other sports courts, enclosed areas which are supposed to be free from dogs (albeit they sometimes get in when the gates are left open and owners are irresponsible), a children’s play area with a range of toys, a small cafe and three public toilets, with Highbury Parade shops, lower Holloway Road and a range of public transport options nearby.

One word of caution: I’ve heard reports recently of some phone snatching and muggings, so you should be vigilant, especially when walking with your phone out. I don’t know how crime rates here compare to other green spaces in London. All I can add is that I haven’t experienced any crime in the Fields myself, and I’ve lived next to the park for c.15 years.

My local park. Decent but nothing great. The worst thing is that the soil is so wet, I went for a walk with my dog 3 days after it rains and I almost got stuck in the middle of the park- the whole surface was muddy it felt like quicksand! My new trainers were ruined but I manage to escape lol
Dog owners in the area are very friendly, there is also tennis court
