Ladbroke Square Garden

Wonderful park. It's near my workplace and you can often see me there, getting some lunch in the sun. The air is refreshing and a nice change from the office's dull atmosphere.

It is beautiful. There are lovely flower beds and magnificent trees. You can only go there on Open Garden Squares Weekend, unfortunately. However. There is food and drinks and even entertainment.

Historic, upscale homes built when there used to be a racetrack there. Ground was too muddy so track is now beautiful crescent. You'll need a key to actually visit the gardens though!

The Notting Hill Carnival is an annual event that has taken place in London since 1966 on the streets of the Notting Hill area of Kensington, each August over two days (the August bank holiday Monday and the preceding Sunday).

It is led by members of the British West Indian community, and attracts around one million people annually, making it one of the world's largest street festivals, and a significant event in Black British culture.

I love this place Really is just a beautiful park, if you compare it to a number of others, say Brockwell park in Brixton, the amount of effort in ensuring the grounds are tip top are levels above Brockwell. Obviously a much richer borough, so it should be, but nice to see it.

Despite being in the centre of London this is a really nice and quiet private park. What made it especially memorable for me though was the great time I got to spend there with one really amazing person.

Beautiful but remember, private. A friendly resident may help you to get access. Note how wide is northern path - a street! - and how beautiful are the gardens, each one accessing the Square. Truly prime estate.
