Eltham Common

One of the best green spaces in South East London. Its quiet, has fantstic views of London and great for park runs, tennis, outdoor gym, kids playground or dog walks with easy access to the forest without crossing any main roads. It has plenty free parking for those not in walking distance and a cafe for refreshments. Come visit as you won't be dissapointed. Beautiful gardens & art deco house

Great ancient woodlands, on the edge of london. Quiet, serene, great place to walk the dog. Also home to severndroog Castle with its fantastic views and cafe, as well as the cafe at the top of the hill. If you get tired of walking, there are also 3 pubs which are adjacent to it on shooters Hill. See my other reviews.

Elrham common is a patch of grass on the junction of shooters hill road and well hall road, 2 of the busiest roads anywhere. The woods are great, with a folly known as severndroog castle and rose gardens a cafe , some meadows and more woods. It's all on a hill though, so be prepared to go up and down unless you just chill at the cafe or castle. Parking is free and toilets available at the cafe when open. Always closes before dark.

The small forest is great for trail running. Has a lot of small trails in between the main pathways and since it also features some elevation you can also train some up- and downhill sections here.
Otherwise it is visited my a lot of families and people walking their dogs. Recent storms have knocked down some trees and branches so you might have to get around or over some obstacles from time to time.

I visited here in February. It is a nice open area that is good for walking.

Sunset is nice!

Oh, this is a lovely park to visit first thing in the morning. Also good exercise walking up the hill. It's feel like you are on top of the world when you reach the top.
