Enjoyable tussle with nature. Went as part of an organised school excursion. Kids learned about differing ecosystems in the impression sanctuary just off the busy Carshalton high street. Now feel well versed in various pond and woodland wildlife. Kids loved it. Good facilities including toilets and a classroom when we went down as part of school trip. Recommended.

Staying at the Greyhound Hotel, we walked all over the waterways and bridges and passed by the Honeywood Museum a magical place and right next door at the Sutton Ecology center where wonder and science collide. The world of dreams, nature, culture - no wonder there are pathways lined with ‘living hedges’ and an upturned boat (tikki hut) that makes the perfect place to meet and talk with kids about the natural scenic world around them. The reflection pond surrounded by reeds…the birds and the clearing with the wooden stumps as chairs forming the circle. We brought our many children here they had so much fun re-enacting battles with sticks, the ones we found lying under the tall pines and furs. I want to see @westcountry_hedgelayer come here and make the pathways really beautiful! #suttonecologycenter #hedgesofengland #hedges #nature #sutton #bestofbrittain

A real gem in the centre of Carshalton. I didn't know it existed and was so glad to find it. It's a nature reserve to provide a natural haven in London. There's lots of walking trails, information boards and a pond. It's very natural, wild and peaceful.

A hidden place in the city, its like a small park forest, nice to walk. I like they have bee friendly plants and also we saw foxes ...hopefully people there feed them too! It's a bit dry now due to the hot summer, but still nice place to hide from the heat.

Great grade 2 listed building and museum taking you though time. It’s amazing just how much history and talented special people live in this area and continue traditions. Good for family and children, and everyone. A must see.

Very privileged to have this lovely space to enjoy in Carshalton. So important to have space given over to nature. Lovely in the Spring and Summer with birds and wildlife.

A free open air ecology museum that is even open during lockdown. It is reasonably large and has different areas showing different types of wildlife habitats.
