Downham Playing Fields

These fields are very well looked after and cared for. They are used by dog walkers and just people out for some fresh air and exercise. There are lots of 🌲 trees around the edges for birds and other wildlife. It's a lovely walk in the summer. These fields are an asset to Downham

Nice park but seriously lacking a decent playground for children. The whole area is missing great places for kids to play. Shame this hasn’t been addressed or prioritised. Just needs swings, slides, etc.

It is a lovely field with a nice view, but more could definitely be done with this space, maybe incorporating a play area for the kids.

Took my boys here to play football. Which was great, but it needs more to do. Like swings slides. Has great potential.

Children park parts have been fixed, lovely walk with a small river, basketball/football court.

It's nice enough for a local park but the place is always covered in litter, chicken bones and fly tipping. The council just need to go to the effort of replacing the bucket bins with ones that foxes can't get into so that rubbish doesn't end up all over. They should also put a gate at the top (Durham Hill end) like they have the other end so that vans or cars don't pull down and fly tip.

Nice views though and grass is cut regularly and we'll maintained. It's also accessible from all sides which makes it convenient to get to, gives parking options and is a nice little cut through when walking.

Good place to take my dog for a run which is near the leisure centre.
