Castle Green Recreation Ground

Just a big open green space,not much to do here but take a walk around it.

Needs cleaning as there is broken glass and rubbish everywhere but a good open space nonetheless

Lots of play areas

Attended a football tournament. Very well organised and my grandsons team won the cup...

Best place to relax

Castle Green is mostly recognised by the highly visible silhouettes of Football Greats of the area! Anybody travelling along this stretch of A13 must have seen the silhouettes at the mound of the Castle Green - silhouettes of Bobby Moore, Beverley Gull, Alf Ramsey and Jason Leonard - all of whom were champions and success stories of their time!

There is a skate park, playground and football ground! Castle Green Centre is located along the stretch of Gale Street. The centre hosts a number of services including a school, nursery, creche, library, conference hall, sports facilities inuding floodlit artificial football pitches and grass pitches! Castle Green Centre and pitches are fenced and have restricted access! Remaining 3 quarter of the Castle Green are mostly flat grass surface with concrete pathway!

There is a little woodland with a tiny pond by the side adjacent to the Canonsleigh Road!

Overall, a very good flat surface for leisurely stroll, rumbling around, exercise, informal play, skating, dog walking, cycling and much more!

Nice pitches and general facilities. The football pitches are a little heavy so be careful not to get injured. Overall is well maintained

Nice place with a kiddies play are, small lake with some wildlife. Such as ducks and swans.
