The duck pond makes this park a bit special especially in spring when the ducklings hatch. You may even spot a turtle or two.

I little bit of wilderness in the harsh city, have recently moved back to Eltham after 22 years of living near the country and have been missing my forest walks, so with my headphones on (drowning out the traffic) this walk was just what I needed! Not quite hilly enough for me and went round in circles a bit to avoid the edges where you can see the town and traffic but a very pleasant walk all the same.

This park has easy access from the road through both by walk, bus, train (Falcon wood) and car. The parking is free in the adjacent road. The environment is like jungle type. This park is suitable for all age groups and dogs (may not like narrow paths). The inner part of the park is having new seasonal flower bloom with wild garlic. Some found with temporary tent arrangements. Lots of bird chattering can be heard specially parrots. Enjoy 😊

From Eltham Park South, through the wood replete with bluebells, across a buttercup field to the Long Pond with terrapins and goslings with blue skies and majestic cumulus. An unforgettable day for us and grandchild.

This park is across the road from Oxleas Wood/Meadows and feels like a continuation of the woods. There is a woodland area and a park area. It is also part of the South East London Green Chain walk.

There is also an Eltham Park South across the very busy A2 which is accessed by a concrete pedestrian fly over. I assume the two parks were once just Eltham Park and were split by the construction of the A2.

Lovely park with a more wild feel to it, great place to feed the ducks or walk through the woodland, also a few good spots for blackberries in the summer and wild garlic in the spring. The long grass in the meadow looks beautiful during the summer months when the sun is setting and there is a nice view of Canary Wharf too.

Eltham Park North is the wilder, less managed swath of Eltham Park. Where the South park (South of the A2) is wide open short grass for playing pitches, tennis courts, playgrounds and al fresco coffees, the North park is long grass, woods with ancient trees and wildlife, particularly around the lovely Long Pond (with ducks & terrapins). There are also spectacular views across London with a skyline map to help one identify the major landmarks. It's a beautiful place and there are many switching walkways through the woods. It is also part of the Green Chain Walk and the Capital Ring Walk.

Well worth a visit!
