Nice Park to take a wonder around.

Free parking at the Copice in Belper, also worth a walk around.

Then when you're hungry, try eating out at one of the many home grown eateries (avoid the chains) or having a drink at one of the number of craft ale bars, cocktail bar, or sports pubs (if that's your thing).

Always stuff on (such as the wollen woods) so get on t'internet to see whats kicking off...and get joining in!

Within easy 5 minute walking distance from town.
Plenty of car parks around town to use.
This is part woods, part fields.
It's not particularly large and after 35 minutes we had done it.
Not suitable for pushchairs.
Walking boots advised as muddy in areas.
Great for walking dogs, and if you head to the field up the hill there is a small children's play area.
No toilets or food facilities.

Never seen a park with so many oak trees! It's lovely to walk through an oak woodland, especially around autumn and it's celebration of colour. This is a multi level reserve with a park at the top, surrounded by sloping woods, a sharp drop which is popular on snowy days, a clean brook, holly woodlands, lots of ferns and 2 football pitches (Park Road, The Fleet).

Good, large, varied landscape of ancient woodland, grassy areas, Coppice Brook meandering through, views over Belper from the higher ground.
Oh, and friendly locals too.
