We went on an autumn walk to get leaves for school project ( leaf rubbing)was still really pretty with all the coloured leaves on the trees and ground . It had been raining so make sure you wear wellies as the grass is still long and its very very muddy and slippy. And watch for dog poo as a lot of dog walkers dont pick up and bag it. Watch out for tree roots also as they are hidden in the mud and leaves and I tripped a few times. I walk with crutches so its a bit touch in places like the steps at one end, and the roots and slipping. But it is lovely and peaceful and petty. Well worth a trip kids will love the nature and great for photos

Best to walk there. Plenty of options for footpaths, very limited (free) parking best kept for disabled visitors and those with pushchairs etc. Be prepared for mud. Picnic opportunities in Derrington Millennium Wood but since the sad closure of the Red Lion, no facilities or refreshments available nearby
