Even on a rainy day great walk, and spring is definitely in the air.

The place is called peel tower as well. There is no ticket to visit this place and still it is a beautifull place to relax and enjoy some chill time ! I gave four stars because unfortunately they closed the tower for some safety reasons for public viewing !! When i went there i was not able to go inside as it was closed not to open for now !! I think they should open it for public viweing after doing some renovation. But overall the view was worthwhile . The memorial tower to Sir Robert Peel, also known as "Holcombe Tower", high above Ramsbottom was planned and erected at the same time as Bury was preparing its statue to the then recently deceased statesman who was born in Bury.
The tower occupies a prominent position on Harcles Hill[1] (known locally as "Holcombe Hill"[2] due to its location next to Holcombe village) 1,100 feet (335 m) above sea level.
The tower is 128 feet (39 m) high. A local Easter tradition entails people walking up the hill on Good Friday, often rolling hard-boiled eggs down the steep sides, because “a rolling stone gathers no moss”.
The tower was renovated in 1929 and at various other times. The tower closed after the Second World War in 1947 and was reopened and rededicated in November 1985 by Conservative Councillor Alice Maders.

This is a really lovely place for picnic and family time . You can go there have sun bathing when it's a sunny day... enjoy some sun with good yummy food while viewing the whole village from the peak.
You can go up to the tower using horses if anyone have , bikes , to some point you can take your car as well. But all people who go there love tracking and walking up the hill. There are two ways one is the wide road you can take to go up to the tower and second way you can use the way that was created by treading towards the tower !! It's kind of a narrow and tricky way and you need to be more carefull by going through that way as sometimes it gets slippery and you can skid as well. It's not dangerous but if you are tracking for the first time you should be carefull while doing it !! Otherwise It's really fun tracking there enjoying summer weather with lots of sunshine as in england you usually witness cloudy weather !!!
You can have picnic up there with kids and your partners. Best place to relax and chill after everyday toiling !!!
I loved the view which was breath taking from that hill . You can see farm houses people have there. A whole beautifull sceneic view indeed . Calm and relaxing with fresh air that really touches your soul inside out . My experience was just superb.

It's a small car park. It has a slightly uneven gravel floor. The texture under foot is satisfying and the anticipation of the walk ahead exciting. Really one of the best types of gravel I've EVER seen. FANTASTIC small area for you car. Park up and experience this moving emotional journey.

If you need to park your car then there is no finer car park than Lumb Carr Road car park. I parked my car and when I returned it was where I left it. Amazing! The white lines are nice and straight, which is a bonus xxxx
