Parking is limited on the east side. Beware the West side parking on private road, you have to pay but signs on far side of the road (opposite where everyone parks) so easy to miss and get fined. Signs both side please!!

The car park is shared between The Old Ford pub, and the Station Dental Clinic. Our visit today was to the dentist, whose patients we have been for over 20 years. The car park is unmade up, and is regularly plagued by potholes. Today, I was fortunate enough to park on some newly laid shingle. The pub is particularly severe in defending its territory, with notices forbidding drivers to enter their site even to turn round. Parking for the Station itself is virtually non-existent on the ticket office side, but there is a small car and cycle park on the other side.

Bit strange to find but otherwise fine and easy to pay. Very convenient to walk from the car park directly onto platform 1.

Entrance to the car park is a mess, like driving on to a dodgy building site. Can’t believe they make you pay for this dump
