Car parking in the hospital is disgusting ( only word I can find) this system of not collecting a ticket but putting your car reg in at paying machine adds more frustration on the customers, about 4pm I had to Q for about 27 minutes in a Q of 50 people who where as frustrated as I was. That extra time puts extra money when it’s bad enough paying so much to visit a loved one. People in charge need to re induce the card system or put extra payment machines so customers do not have to Q and get so angry- please sort this out

Bays are a bit small if you need to get a frame out of the back of the car and you do not have a disabled badge. New ampr system causing a few issue with long queues to pay for parking

Visited today, plenty of space.
New signage is a little confusing as it just says Pay on Exit at the entrance, is that exiting on foot to the hospital or exiting with your car after an appointment, would help if the wording was clearer.
Having worked out it was when I was driving off, the rest worked OK.

First the positives. The car park is good and easy to access. The spaces are good enough for large cars.

Now the real issue is the method of paying for parking:

1. There are only 3 machines for the whole car park. The queues are lengthy and it can take a most 20 mins to pay - adding to the cost of car parking

2. The “App” that you can supposedly use to pay is mind-bogglingly complicated to use. After 3 days of visiting a relative I gave up with the App.

Parking before around 4.30pm during the week is an absolute nightmare. People start hooting horns despite nobody being able to move. More cars are coming in than spaces available. I have had to drive around each level more than once before being successful. I have witnessed an angry lady driver scrape another (very smart, nearly new) car a number of times in her attempt to park. Wasnt able to take details as abandoned my husband on an "up ramp" as we couldn't move and I decided my mother was my priority so left my husband to park whilst I went into the hospital. Then there is the queue to pay often pushing you into the next pay band. Daily visiting is costing an absolute fortune. £4.60 the other day and I had been bedside less than 2 hours. 2 months down so far and goodness knows how many weeks/months to go. The whole situation is stressful enough without the added parking worries. It's a shame the new system doesn't recognise regular visitors and adjust the charges accordingly.

Entrance to the carpark is quite tight. Car parking spaces are relatively small and turns in the car park are tight. I drive a medium size SUV.

Much better to park now new multi storey has opened. New camera scanners for number plates reduces queues

Greatest Main Entrance Car Pk I've ever visited and I've been to a lot of Main Entrance Car Pks over the years.
Quality concrete, challenging spaces and some lovely views from the top.
Includes stairs for if you're going to leave your car there and sometimes even a lift.
Public seating is available on the 4th floor for car park viewing although limited to only 3 seats.
5 stars.
