Swanwick Shore Car Park

Used to be a great place to park up and hit the water but has become very well known and now just gets packed in the summer/warm months. We went for a sunrise paddle recently and the car park was already pretty much full at 5am in the morning on a Sunday! So just be prepared to not get parking.

Ideal for parking close to water for paddle boarding/kayaking. A busy car park. No toilet facilities.

I’d thought I’d update my review as now you do have to pay to park!
It’s situated behind the Old Ship pub. From here you can enjoy a walk along the river or use the water for all sorts of water going craft.
There is a public hard where you can launch your boat or set off in smaller craft.
It’s become even more popular now with more people using paddle boards but please be respectful of other users using the hard & parking, unfortunately people unload & inflate their boards in an empty spot only for someone to come along & can’t park.
Also so many are actually selfishly parking on the slipway!
The council should be monitoring & enforcing offenders

Ideally placed to launch a kayak/paddle board/small boat from the public slipway but very small and you do need to pay to park. There are no public toilet facilities here either which would be a huge plus.

A superb place to park if you want to use the river Hamble for either SUPping it kayaking.

The Hamble River is beautiful. This is an often full car park. With an incredible view. Remember to bring your best paddle

Had a beautiful view put over the marinas and the River Hamble, the only problem is the amount of space there is. On a nice hot dey there is very little space and can take a while to park especially when some of the cars are there for a day when others are there for just a while. But otherwise a very nice place to park and have access to the paddle board hire shop. The path that leads along the River Hamble is also a very nice one to walk on, and maybe a little narrow at points but otherwise very nice. It can smell of seaweed a bit but that isn't too bad.
