They now charge poorer people more to park per hour than those who can afford new cars therefore pricing them out of the park.

It is just a carpark - but aside from busy times it’s a pretty good size and well located (near the main playground, food and big house).

If you have mobility needs or young kids, the £2/hour is ‘ok’ and pay using the but easy to use after the first time - remembering your car and locations (choose to favourite it). OayByPhone app - hassle to setup

The surface is a little odd, kind of hexagonal plastic with stones. There are some bay markings but they’re hard to see / seem to be ignored.

What you shouldn’t ignore is that the grassy bank around the bays on the edge is quite steep, so don’t overshoot your bay unless you hate your bumper.

The entry road through the park is quite thin (1 1/2 lanes) with little lay-bys and a 10mph speed limit. Just look ahead or you’ll end up testing your reversing skills over bumps!

You can charge an electric car with what looks like two charge points with two cables each (CCS, I think).

This car park is now cashless. It uses “Pay by phone”, and charges are based on the emissions category of your vehicle.
I attach a photo of the parking sign with the scale of charges. I know my car is ULEZ exempt but I don’t have a scooby which category it falls into according to the charges for this car park.
I thought I’d take a guess anyway and phoned the number so I could “pay by phone”. After standing in the cold for about 10 minutes and being cut off twice I gave up and left the park to head for more friendly pastures.
It was to have been my first visit to Beckenham Place Park.
I have no inclination to return.

I had made a booking for a swim in the lake @ 9.20hrs. I arrived early 09.00hrs to book my car onto the parking system. Ten minutes later after registering a different vehicle on an account I couldn't remember the pin for, after arduously inputting the registration of my alternative vehicle, after listening to multiple options, and registering a credit card with a system that I have no faith the details will remain secure on the process left me shaking with rage and no clue as to how to proceed. The last visit I made to this car park I received a penalty notice because I was without a phone and the ticket machine that used to be there has been removed without my knowledge. This visit I left without my swim because the people who should be employed to support people at the entrance are too busy issuing penalty notices. London Borough Of Lewisham, get yourselves down there and try to use your system from cold with a time constraint of ten minutes.

Truly awful. Parking must be paid through an app or over the phone with no alternative. I spent twenty minutes trying both methods, both of which kept malfunctioning. Spoke to an attendant who suggested I simply... leave and park somewhere else. So I did - four miles away at a different park!

Horrible parking system. Inaccessible and anti-user app required. Website is unclear and rubbish. Probably an outsourced company keeping the profits rather than local council. Typical

Absolutely ridiculous online only pay, emissions based? This regressively targets poorer people, what a strange, strange thing to do. Have to pay on bank Holidays too. Dreadful, find some street parking instead

Car park is quite small compared to over 300 cars that are coming here every Sunday to enjoy exercising outdoor particularly during lockdown periods when gyms are closed and there’s not much else to do. Therefore all those cars will park on the grass patch adjacent to the access road which will effectively act as an overflow car park. However, the greedy Council of Lewisham who shut another parking place in front of Manor House without any explanation is issuing PCNs (via NSL) for all those motorists that parked on the grass despite the fact that parking was full.
