YourParkingSpace Vicarage Field Shopping Centre Car Park

Advertised as 24 hr parking... which it's not. Frequently I arrive in the morning and its locked still or like Sunday I see them locking the gates when I leave the car park. Luckily I left just in time or my car would have been locked up there with no one to help me.

AVOID parking at this car park.
It says 24 hours but it's not.
I parked here, and when I came back I found the gates locked so I couldn't leave!
There is no signage to say the car park will be locked at a certain time but yet they claim it's 24 hours!!
I was stuck and there is no number to call for help!

BEWARE OF CLOSURE TIMES OF THIS CAR PARK - THEY WILL LOCK YOU IN! We assumed that the closure time on the signs just indicated the chargeable times but this is NOT the case. The gates were locked from 5.30pm on Sunday. Luckily we were able to climb under the gate to get in to our car, and raise the bar barrier by hand to actually drive out! A few people were also caught out by this and there are NO signs to warn that the gates would be closed. Don't get caught out by this!!

To add insult to injury to park for the day it cost £11!!

My issue is with whoever deals with the signage and the lack of security or help at vicarage fields.

Parked here after my nans funeral as we were having the wake at the spotted dog. Arrived at 3pm and got back to the vicarage at 8.22pm to find the back gate ( Station side) locked, thought it was 24hr as stated everywhere! Had to walk all the way round the shopping centre to the main entrance to lower level car park and got there at 8.38 to find that gate locked to!
My brother Went under the gate to try and find security but the place was dead , says cctv monitored so tried to get the attention of the camera to no avail. No phone number to call so was left stranded with no car , 2 kids in tow and half an hour away from home. Ridiculous!
Then I come on here to find its happened to multiple others! Even while we were there some poor guy who'd travelled from Kent had got stuck too.
Luckily I contacted someone through the parking app who cancelled my fee as I'd already paid for the duration I was there and I was able to collect my car the next day with no additional charges.

The signage needs to be clearer. There has to be someone on site to assist or a phone number to call. Its so distressing!
And to close the gate from the station 8 minutes early is not on at all !!

On 20/08/22 I went to this car park to park my car to go to the gym as the gym provides 2 hours free parking in vicarage field. Before I went to this car park I checked the website to check the parking times and it said it’s 24 hours. I took a picture of what time I parked my car. Went to the gym and after my workout I put in my car details at the gym for the two hours free parking. I got back to my car at 21:00 to see that the car park has been locked up and no one was around. There is no helpline, no security just a payment line. What a disgrace. I had work the next day, needed my car but was unable to take it due to it being locked in this car park. I went to the upper side of the car park to check if I could get out but it was also blocked.I read that there was a penalty charge if I don’t pay the parking fee when my car was locked up. The next day on Sunday my daughter had to go pick up the car and also pay £18 because the car park open on Sunday at 11:00. She tried to seek help from security and they were so unhelpful and told her that I have to pay for this parking. I don’t understand why I had to pay for this parking if I’m paying for the gym and they’ve given two hours free parking. The gym is 24 hours, so the car park should be 24 hours as advertised on the website. This is daylight robbery. My daughter wrote an email to the company which she didn’t receive any response. I would be careful when parking here because this car park close early when it says it’s 24 hours and also there’s no one there to help you.

UNSAFE PARKING! My boyfriend left his car in broad daylight (10am) at the parking lot, and when he came back - he found his car had been vandalised with a permanent marker all across the side of the car. He went to the security to ask for CCTV footage and they replied with ''We're too busy to do that''. What's the point of claiming that the car park is CCTV controlled if the security is too lazy to even get the footage? So inconsiderate and don't recommend leaving your car there!

Absolute joke, after fighting for a week to get the app working and getting poor support I gave up. So I booked a space at vicarage fields car park from 6am to 5pm and paid using the your parking space website that says 24 hour access, I turned up at 6.20am and it was locked up !
Paid for a space I could not access, useless.

Be careful parking here !!!!! I didn't even want to put 1 star. I am disabled and used this car park alot.
I parked and paid for my parking but the machine had no paper to print a receipt. No one around to speak to and no one answering the from the call button. I was fined £100 and had no proof i paid , as i used cash not card. They refused to check the camera for proof that i actually did pay. I am not the only person who this has happened to. I will never use this car park again and have been using it for years with no problems until now. If you have to use this car park then make sure you pay by card , so you have some proof. I wish i did. All in all it cost me £102 for under 2 hours .... disgusting !
