Very poignant place. Be they British or German they all died for there country. That is the ultimate sacrifice you can make as a human being.

Parked just before the barrier - free parking - but quality of the road is very very bad. Would only drive there in first gear. There is a 'proper' car pak further down the road past the barrier that closes at 4pm!! It's located right next to the German War Cemetery which is a very quiet, serene place. Many many lovely walks in the Cannock Chase. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to get out of the city and not hear any traffic for several hours. Many people walk their dogs there which is perfectly fine but I would recommend to have the dog on a leash if you're further from the main trails - I just saw a herd of deer being spooked by a running dog in the forrest today.

There are two cemeteries for this car park. The one nearest the road is the commonwealth cemetery. Towards the end of the track you will find the German war cemetery. Both are well worth a visit. If you walk along the car park towards the German there is a footpath to the left(behind the commonwealth cemetery) This will take you to the 1986 Peace memorial. From there you can take views across the Chase. Well worth a visit for peace and tranquillity.

A very moving place to reflect that there are two sides to every conflict. This is an oasis of peace set in the middle of Cannock chase. Very well maintained with a small information area.
