New Weir car park, Symonds Yat East

Not cheap parking if you're looking for a short walk. 4 hours minimum charge, unsuitable for motorhomes, tight spaces.

From the carpark along the old railway line are scenic vistas of the Wye river and overlooking rock formations. A sturdy cable suspension bridge to wobble across and a ferry to return are a fun options when crossing the river.

Well located car park, good value at £5 for 4 hours, and toilet facilities available. Only downside is it’s not very big so probably fully occupied at popular times

Symonds Yat was never built for cars and any time is a struggle to get your motor in or out. Summer weekends are a nightmare so if you want to try it go early!

Wanted to stop here recently for an hour or less to visit the pub for a drink and to see the rapids as we have done for many many years in the past. However found that the car park prices had drastically increased and the minimum time to stay is now 4 hours for £5. I believe there should at least be an option to pay maybe £2.50 for 2 hours to encourage business in the area as we did not want to pay £5 just to stay for less than an hour. We ended up going elsewhere for a drink and feel very sorry for the businesses in the area as they must be losing out on custom due to this.

Having read some of the negative reviews it was with some trepidation that we approached the car park. It is lovely! Well, not lovely perhaps but a perfect car park in a perfect place. We had no trouble finding a space - go early - and had no cash with us. But there is a sign on the meter that says you can pay by card at the hotel. Which we did with no problems. And yes, it is four pounds for four hours but having paid three pounds for two hours at Symonds Yat car park I don’t see the charge as unreasonable at all. The walk from the car park along the river is level and easy walking with splendid views of the river and the surrounding woods. Go there today!

Nice scinery very peaceful walk with a suprise apperence of some deer.
So after reading some reviews below mine I glad I'm not a kayaker or canoest.
Just as well I didn't take my MTB I may have been hurld with loads of abuse as well.
