Wonderful experience, beautiful secure place for barbeque, sitting next to the river for rafting and a nice dip on a sunny day. The horses and cattles made the kids day too. Just beware not to leave your things unattended otherwise the horses are wonderful. Parking is limited.

Lovely area. Great for picnics. BBQs banned so don't bring one. Bring plenty of stale bread to feed the ducks and geese. You will witness swans and plenty of wildlife if you explore. We did the recommended circular walk starting at Oxford canal on Hythe Bridge Street. Going through Port Meadow onto Wolvercote and back into Oxford via the Thames Path. About 8km. Much recommended. We saw red kites, grey wagtails, heard skylarks and nightingales, saw swifts, egrets, herons, moorhens, rabbits ponies and horses. Highly enjoyable.

Fantastic little FREE car park on the edge of Port Meadow. Public toilets also available which is handy! The slight downside is the road to it is very narrow and the entrance to the car park is on a sharp corner. Definitely a great place to go if you want to adventure around the meadow and see the wild horses.

A large well surfaced carpark. Felt quite safe leaving my car there for the while day. The bonus is its free and has toilets.

It’s a very rare open and wide location near Oxford that you can park your car then you can do to many things by yourself or with your family. Fishing, barbecuing, picnicking, walking, paddle boarding. It’s a big, open and close to city but yet very rural option. There’s a rowing club as well you can join or very close excellent pub also you can enjoy. Go for it ! You’ll not regret it.

This car park is a great place to park to go for walk in Port Meadow. It's also popular in the summer for people wishing to swim in the river.
