North Yorkshire Moors Railway Car Park

Fantastic train trip from Pickering to Goathland. Staff very helpful. Very romantic experience, nothing like hearing a steam train pull away and hearing the whistle blow. Well worth the money for the experience. Car park good value and very short distance to station.

Plenty of parking space and a super train ride from Pickering to Whitby. Really enjoyed our day out. Staff and volunteers very friendly and helpful.

Good parking for railway. £6 per day to park. Gets busy. Platform 3 has good space to park with good views of the trains

A must visit for any steam railway enthusiasts! The line runs from Pickering to Whitby, about 1 hr 45 mins each way, lovely in the summer travelling across the moors. 2 car parks, one run by NYMR (£5 all day) the other is private I believe but you can park all day for £6 in this one, plus its attended.

Nice big spaces which I like and only £5.

Great afternoon out picking up the steam train at Pickering at 12pm returning at neatly 7 (£6 parking in the long stay, station parking was £5 but full), coffee on the train was £2.50 for a cup, cash or card with pin, no contactless...

We went right through to Whitby, there the toilet was closed with the only public options being 40p each for the public toilets of which there were several. We went to Mr Chips by the beach for takeaway cod and chips for me and scampi and chips for my wife, both were very nice which we ate day on a wall by the beach before wandering along the pier.

All in all a very good day out.

Full when I arrived at 11:30 first day of steam gala. £5 all day. Very nice overflow car park next door £6 all day.

So helpful allowed my mobility scooter on in the guardvan. Great views on a steady ride through to Whitby and station at start of harbour and shops.
