Wonderful walk (even if it is rather tiring). Uphill walk to the lake, and even more so if you fancy the trek to the top! But it's totally worth it for the views.
The car park had a couple of porta-loos (April 2022) and there are plenty of sheep around so dogs need to be under control.

Epic views, a fantastic place to visit. I'll definitely be going back again as it's that good 😍😍😍

Decent sized CP (about 15 spaces) with 2 portaloos. Track leading to CP shows considerable signs of wear so take care, take care too with the speed humps on the road leading in.
You're here for the walk and parking is a necessity. The walks are great. The weather up top is several degrees cooler than on the valley floor so be prepared and have a great hike.

One of my favourite local hikes, just stroll up to the lake and back, or either the full or small circular walk, absolutely stunning, though I do suggest an early start as it's becoming increasingly more popular

I can not describe how beautiful this place is. We went for a long walk around the mountain and the lake for a few hours.
It's steep and not an easy walk, but the views are just breathtaking.
Be carefull when walking around the lake though, it is not the easiest way, the paths are very narrow and they crumb under your feet when raining, and you could fall about 8 to 10 meters there..
We are intrepid explorers so we went for it, scary but it was totally worthy!!

The car park is for about 10 cars or vans so go there early as it gets busy. There is 2 portable toilets on site.

The parking states no overnight camping.

And its is definitely not and easy drive there if you are driving a motor home, so best to go by car or smaller van.

The country roads leading to the car park are very precarious. Not suitable for motorhomes or LWB vehicles. The final 200m is off road and very uneven. No overnight signs in force.

Once in the car park there are portaloos onsite.

The walk goes straight up the mountain side and is worth doing for the views at the top and coming down. Steep incline.

Unfortunately you aren't able to wild swim in the lake due to submerged machinery (apparently)

Would visit again

It was a really beautiful walk, steep but well worth the view from the top.

Challenging road to get to this car park and my advice would be to get there early if you want a space, great starting point for a number of circular walks up to the lakes and fans.
