If you have a couple of hours to spare try parking in this car park. Stupid slow machine very poorly designed and a guaranteed dose of covid as you press the buttons to try an get a ticket. Mind you the view is nice of the river while you stand there picking your nose in frustration

In some ways Cardigan town centre is unique. It has an array of small shops which are all located in the high street. I particularly liked the emporium which has a large amount of gifts for all occasions. The staff were so friendly.
The sports shop was so comprehensive with so much choice for a small shop. If you walk to the end of the main shopping street you will come to the river. You can take a trip down the river as a treat
Cardigan is a great example of how a town centre should be. It is definitely worth a trip.

7.50 for campervan parking !!! INSANE !!
On our way we wanted to stop somewhere for lunch. Nice little town, parking etc. We stopped and normal cars can pay for an hour but for campervan you need to pay for 24h and no overnight stay. WHY do I care ! I wanted to stop for lunch. So no money for parking thieves, and no money for local businesses. Cheers

Pretty typical car park on the banks of the Teifi River. The car park can be prone to flooding so bear that in mind if the river is high or the forecast suggests flooding.

The car park is equipped with machines that allow payment by card or cash.

Lovely small port in the old part of Fishguard, with picturesque cottages, boats anchored, and not far from the old Fort ruins.

The car park is, in itself, fine it has spaces to park cars, has a lovely riverside view and is close to the town centre.

The ticket machines however are a massive issue and really need sorting, quickly!

You press a button to "Wake up" the machine, then as you look to see what to do next, and I am talking seconds here, it gets bored and goes back to sleep. I tried to work out what I was needing to do before waking it again but that wasn't obvious. I had to wake the thing three times before I'd got through the, press the green tick for normal vehicle parking for one day and then the flag to have English instructions (Yes, I know, I don't speak Welsh, I would love to, my Great Grandma did but having been brought up in the West Midlands, I don't) Having got to the English instructions it said pay with card or coins. It may have just been the panic setting in but I couldn't see a slot for coins, which was ironic, as the old machine was coins only and we'd been into a shop to get some change!!

So again, within a matter of a few seconds the machine said the transaction was finished, which clearly it wasn't. So we had to go through the whole process again, TWICE.

There are no instructions on what to do but finally we realised that when we got to the pay with card or coins bit, you need to very quickly use the + and - buttons to get the time slot that you wish to purchase, then present your card. It wouldn't Read my card so I had to put it into the machine and enter my PIN number. So much for Contactless then!

No wonder there was such a long queue at the other Machine.

We then went and had a superb lunch sitting on the decking of the Fisherman's Rest, enjoying the river view and the constant queues of frustrated parkers, trying desperately to purchase a parking ticket.

Be warned, at present, you need to be very quick to stop the machine from going back to sleep!!
