Beach Rd Car Park

The car park at the beach is closed so you can only park at the top and walk down. Parking is,shall we say challenging at the moment . The beach was relatively quiet and quite stunning.

Didn't use the parking here only reviewing the scenery and walking tracks which were spectacular wish I had more time here

It’s a small gravel car park but the view is incredible, especially in the evening with the sunsets. You have to pay for parking and it takes a while to pay as the machine is card payments. It’s really busy so make sure you get there early evening for the sunsets about 6.30pm or earlier in the summer

We parked down in the main car park which is free out of season. This beach road one is pay and display. Parked here in lockdown. Had terrifying walk along the cliff park. Spectacular views though

Good location for breakfast. Maybe a little expensive. 1h or all day only options … although using Just Park may get round that!

The views are spectacular. There are lots of walks in the area including the coastal path and local pathways.

The Vale of Glamorgan Council charge £1 for the first hour, which is fairly reasonable, however if you stay longer one hour plus jumps to £6 which gives you all day but most people stay for around 2 to 3 hours and there is no way to pay a fair price unless you go back after an hour and purchase a new ticket. Another way of ripping off the motorist!! I have officially complained to the council and local Senedd Member so let's wait and see what happens!!!

Just an update to correspondence with Senedd Member and Vale of Glamorgan Council --

Basically the Councillor involved who is the Cabinet Member for Neighbourhood Services and Transport ( I won't name him)
Is not interested in reviewing these charges and says these charges have been in force for several years.

Unfortunately I cannot recall if that's the case but the fact remains it is not a fair parking charge in a gravel, potholed carpark :-(

It is a labour run Council !! labour used to be the party for the working person which stood for fairness and integrity but they have Unfortunately gone off the rails.

Thats all I asked for is a fair incremental payment charge. So if I stay 2hrs, I pay 2 hrs !!
Can't be fairer than that.

I know at the next election in the Vale they won't be getting my vote !!
