By far the worst car park in Britain. Pay machines are slow and complicated, and there are few of them. When was the last time you queued to pay for parking? Well, prepare to do so here! One of the only 2 pay machines that accept card was broken when I came.
This is a tourist spot. How many tourists are walking around with change?! What a ridiculous car park

Looks a fairly normal sprawling carpark.. average modern price charges ( too much).. but has those ridiculous parking machines that need your life story!!,,??,multiple choices.. & machines don't tell you if you've picked the right one or not ?.. just stop working ( no promts).. Whilst waiting in queue to pay.. 2 lady's were unable to pay.. another walked away.. & yet another told me to try because she couldn't get machine to accept what she was selecting... Afraid I didn't put in my car registration as I never remember it.. It was raining & had been in que for over 5 mins.. didn't want to return to car & que again. Why oh why can't we just pay without so much faff.

Here for leisure trip in to Wales. Carpark it's self is in a great location, it's only a short walk into the town of Hay-on-Wye and all it offers.
There were spaces, but they were filling up fast. I am unsure of other parking availability in the town.
The cost at about a £1 an hour seemed reasonable, although I do not know how this compares to the local area. It is a lot more to park where I live.
The infernal machines need scrapping, and scrapping fast.
There are only two machines in this large carpark, the queues to use the machines soon built up.
One of the machines was not taking card payments (we should be grateful that the other one did take card payment, or we would have returned back to base, and the town would have lost our hard earned money).
The abominations that are the conduit to pay are over complicated, to many button presses to gain a ticket and heaven forbid you make an error, you'll have to start again.
The whole thing needs dragging into the 21st century with the ability to pay via an App. You need more machines, OR just make them free, and be done with it.

Handy for castle and town centre. Parking for a car is £1 an hour. Coins or card, but there is a service fee when paying by card.

Normally quiet, central parking. Closed on Thursdays. Parking is on a slight slope

Plenty of spaces but fills quickly. Machines are incredibly slow. If you come on a saturday be prepared to have to wait up to 30 mins to use one. No facility to pay by phone

Plenty of spaces but they're not particularly generous in size. The machine situation is diabolical. There's no way to pay online and not all of the machines take cash. Powys Council need to catch up with the 21st century. I haven't had to queue at a machine in years!
