Our visit coincided with the 2022 heat wave and unfortunately there were no shaded areas. No big deal though.
There's an information board telling the story and legend behind the rivers that run into and the reservoir itself.
There's wooden benches to sit on, picnic tables and loads of parking. There's actually two levels with the lower part be being a little larger.
Well worth the stop, especially after seeing the reservoir in "snippets" en route to see it in all its full glory at the end was lovely.
Bit of rain in the air, snow it is always an amazing view and a great place to stop over before heading further north into the lovely Welsh countryside. Used to be a tea wagon here pre Covid days sadly no longer here. But not to far from the little village of Llanidloes, where you can pick up food and drink and enjoy the splendid views whilst having a bite to eat. Free car park that is on a split level with information boards telling you about the local area. The long distance walk of " Glyndwr's Way " passes along the reservoir ( look out for the National trails acorns on marker posts / gates ) As per usual, visit, enjoy the scenery and take your litter home.
