Shortwood Car Park (National Trust)

Lovely place, plenty of walks to be had.
Nor a very large car park, but my family and I had no issues getting in.
Beware there is live stock about in some fields so any dogs need to be under control.

Convenient car park for walking in this area. Easy to access with dog poo bins (so much nicer than having to take it home in the car) and there was a mobile coffee shop on the day I went

The beacon is a short walk and all with great views of the valley and the muller factory!

Lovely place to park up and go for a walk. Good for dog walkers and sight seeing the views are beautiful weather permitting of the valley, seven bridge, river Severn and surrounding areas right over to the Forest of Dean and much further. Keen photographers can catch awesome sunrise and sunset. Also watch the thunder and lightning strike up the river absolutely stunning!!. Very nice woodland walk off to the left and plenty to see for interested in wildlife and nature.

We have known this carpark for over 50 years, thanks to the National Trust all this wonderful area is unchanged. Grassy paths with far-reaching views to the Brecons, over the River Severn. Level walk to the topograph. Carpark is pay & display for non-members of the NT. Please don't park on the road outside, make a small contribution to maintaining this glorious spot.
