Called ahead and said I was bringing in 2 rolexs to be valued, said they would send to their watch guy in London to have them valued then get back to me with a price. Walked in, guy who saw me took brief look at both and said not something they would but. Why waste my time on phone saying that then.

Very untrustworthy people. I’m an experienced jeweller myself and took an item in just to see what they would value it at but the staff here tried to tell me a solid 9ct gold bracelet with full assay hallmarks in multiple locations was not genuine gold.

Either they are very inexperienced staff as you could not find a more genuine looking gold piece of jewellery if you tried or this is a sales tactic they use to try and deceive customers so they have an opportunity to buy genuine gold as fake at a very low price.

Do not sell your items to a pawnbroker, speak to genuine established jeweller or auction houses in order to receive a fair.
