The Playhouse is a fantastic venue in a quieter part of town. A great selection of drinks including no fewer than three gluten-free beers, although the only food available is a selection of candy bars.

The decor is quite kitschy with retro toys on the shelves and a fascinating Norwich display on the ceiling.

The staff are friendly and polite in both the bar and the ticket office.

I mustn’t mention to forget the shows that are booked here! All of which a very high standard, both comedy and theatre.

First time at the playhouse, thoroughly enjoyed it, the staff were all lovely & the seating was very comfortable. For a smaller theatre it was very intimate and welcoming. Seemed really close to the stage and enjoyed the whole experience.

Seen a few performances here, lovely venue with all facilities on hand. Great accessibility options as well as fantastic bar adjacent, whether you’re a trendy art student or local old boy you’ll find your place here.

Nice little theatre. This photo is from row K seat 7 but I don't think there's a single seat where you wouldn't have a good view of the stage.

Very nice theatre. The angle of the seating means you get a good view of the stage without having to dodge past the person in front of you. The acoustics were good too.

I love the bar in this place though they are often slow to serve you. Not great with limited time before shows or during the interval.

Awesome place. Really friendly staff at the venue and also in the bar.

Love the Playhouse and have been many times. The venue is small enough to feel intimate, but large enough to know you are an audience for the stage.

The bar...is busy. Take that into consideration when you would like a drink. The staff will get to you and greet you in a polite and professional manner, but be patient, you will get your drink, albeit with a wait.

Overall, the place is great.

The staff are lovely. Seats are pretty comfy, and there's more legroom than the average theatre.

*Edit January 2023. Sat in row K. Definitely not more legroom than average in this row - couldn't move!

Great venue - large enough for amazing performances, but small enough to feel part of the experience. Great bar, too!
