Pets at Home Colchester

The staff are super friendly and the vets and techs looked after Dexter well. He doesn't like his cone, but his surgery was top class and the desk staff helped sort the insurance questions out really well.

Would gave happily given more stars. However, on this visit,it was for the veterinary section of the store. Emergent visit an hour or so before closing. Due to the nature of the need time was of the essence. Not to the store/staff. Thankfully we were finalising details for an operation the following day, but heartless staff came marching up to the veterinary section and said we had to leave at the store was closing and we had to leave. We were dealing with an emergent, could be potential serious life incident and they could not care for the animal and family members. At this point I would call them deaths at home!

Lovely welcoming staff here with good knowledge and a vast array of equipment and accoutrements.
And you can take your pets in here too ! So that's helpful if you need to try on dog coats or a harness.

Lovely pet shop. Staff polite and really helpful. Found everything needed. Quite well priced. Get all my pet supplies in one place. Kids love to look at the animals too

Great layout and organised stocks making it really simple to find the products you need. Alison has also been a great help answering all our questions and needs aswell.

I came in the store quite distressed with a problem and not knowing what to get. Alison and her team today were very helpful and gave me some good advice and products that will be suitable for my cats, so i came out very pleased. Good store.

Went into Pets @ Home in Colchester Essex having a Taxi waiting outside asked for urgent assistance to buy Tropical fish to which case the lady behind the counter said someone will be right over, 5 minutes later still no assistance, went to the counter to ask again for this assistance to where she pointed to a young lad just filling pallets. I said where is this assistance to which he sharply said "! Im coming, thought that to be a bit rude. he did then come to our assistance and we sort of felt we needed to apologise and we selected a siamese fighter, 2 swordtail and 6 golden barbs for a community tank. Little did we know the golden barbs are chasing the fins of our other community fish. Was a bad experience

Since finding out my boy has cancer, Vets4Pets have gone above & beyond for both of us & even before then, they were great.
They fit us in whenever I have a worry - whether it's on the phone or in person, they treat him like he's their own pet, they're affordable & all round wonderful.
We've had vets before who were great clinically, but didn't seem like animal lovers at all - a vet who says hello to your pet in a baby voice whilst doing wonderful work on their condition makes me feel so much more comfortable & is certainly easier on my boy who now has to see them twice a week - especially as he has huge anxiety with the vets.
They're making a horrible, difficult time a lot easier to deal with. They deal with our insurance up front for us & will answer any questions we have, no matter how small. I absolutely hate taking my dog to the vet as it stresses him out but they make it easier. I wouldn't ever use anyone else again. Truly wonderful people.
