I honestly don't know how this pharmacy can have so many bad reviews, I have been using it since forever and have only had good treatment. They are busy so sometimes we have to wait or go back but we totally understand that.
As for not answering the pharmacy, the pharmacists are really busy and you may have to call back...if counter staff answered the phone they can't help so it's better to leave the pharmacists do their job and the counter staff do theirs. I'm sure the people that are moaning because they can hear the phone ringing but see counter staff not answering would be moaning more if they had to wait ages to be served while counter staff kept answering the phone!
For Gods sake just be patient!

Sign on door stating short staffed but there was at least 5 staff on but it was chaos and so disorganized, there was only 2 customers waiting so hardly busy but the staff were extremely rude. My asthma inhaler prescription was sent from local drs to them a week ago and told it would be ready to collect after Tuesday. Went on Friday and they didn't have and I was told to go to the Dr. The staff who served me was unable to remember my name for no longer than than 30 seconds and kept shouting at me to tell her my name...again and again. she was rude to me and very argumentative. It looks like they could do with better management and I am not going in there again. They were a bunch of misery.

I managed to get an emergency appointment at the doctor for antibiotics, presented it here at 09.40, to be told “tomorrow”! Not “really sorry, we can’t do it today, do you mind coming back tomorrow” - just “tomorrow!” When I looked upset, she said “you can find another pharmacist”. So I did, they asked me to wait ten minutes, which I did. I got my meds, job done! Why was it so easy for “Well” and impossible for Giles’s?

Where is the point of having a phone number if the staff can't be bothered to answer it, I have been calling since 4.30pm it is now 5.30pm at time of writing and the number just rings and rings. If it wasn't for my son being autistic and having to stick to a strict routine I'd go up there, but then that's the whole point of a contact number to be able to call them about medicine collection. Waste of time is giles!!.

I've been calling the Pharmacy for 4 hrs and no one picks up the phone. What's the point of having a phone when no one answers it anyway?

For well over 6 months signage has been on the door stating that they are short staffed appealing for people to be understanding. I believe that goodwill only lasts so long in most circumstances & Giles have had long enough to address the staffing shortages.

Furthermore, 4 staff on, queue of 10 people & only one serving. My prescription was given to Giles Tuesday and wasn’t ready on the Saturday. People ahead of me with similar examples.

Plus staff can’t wait even apologise for the delays and/or for the the prescription not being ready. COVID has been around for 2 years & other businesses have learnt to work with it, so it appears Giles using COVID as an excuse for poor service & standards.

Normally they have been good but now they always make mistakes. Had 1 prescription and 1 post dated prescription. Went to get 1st and they didn't have medication. This month they have give me half 14 days blister pack not 28. Each month I lose £24 to return again fir their mistake. They should post it through my letterbox its their mistake.
