I am a therapist myself and I said to the physio I feel that my pelvis is rotated from the accident. He advised on the 6th appointment that he would refer me to a 'pelvis specialist' via the insurance company. When I chased up the insurance I was shocked to find out that I had been discharged and in the notes the physio put I had this issue before the accident! Outrageous.
I tried calling Ashford and left a message, I got no reply. At the start of the course of treatment I was told I would be sent rehab exercises. These were never received and when I chased them up, my messages were ignored. The physio would also test me on what muscles he was treating or what technique he was doing in my sessions. I obviously answered correctly but felt it was completely inappropriate. I'm there to be treated, not to massage his ego or be tested on my knowledge.
If a physio doesn't know how to treat the issue then he should be honest an refer me to someone who does and to lie on my discharge notes is appalling. I have now sought quality therapy privately aswell as rehabilitating myself and significantly better in a short space of time.
Ashford appear to be using the insurance claims as a cash cow for very questionable therapy. A disgrace.
**Update: Since I left my review I received a very abrupt call from the physio in question and it was not convenient to talk at 6pm on a Friday evening as I was just about to go out. I asked him to call back the following week and he never called back. I also left a message for Martha two weeks later, who eventually called me back. She was very rude and with no customer focus in trying to resolve the matter. She said it was between me and the physio she employs and still weeks later still no contact received. This does nothing but reinforce the evidence that this company is treating these insurance claims for premium fees yet very debatable therapy. I have made Churchill insurance aware.
Avoid at all costs if you want quality, customer focused therapy and actually get your injury appropriately treated.
I cannot stress enough but I have been tremendously helped with the treatment received from Martha and her team. Each and every session has been helpful and I have instantly seen results with every session.
I'd like to call Martha a "magician" as she has magic in her hands and a lot of experience.
There have been times when I was completely confused and needed help after my surgery & Martha has always been there to help even during out-of-hours.
The entire team at Ashford Physiotherapy is extremely caring and friendly. I feel confident about their expertise & would highly recommend them.
