John transformed our cental heating and hot water efficiency plus power flushed the radiators. It was a joy to see someone at work who knew exactly what he was doing. A thorough professional.

John was great, nothing was a problem for him and he even came out to us although we were just on the edge of his boundary for working, we really appreciated the efforts he went to fix our loo and he even did a small job on the side for us too. We can't recommend him highly enough and we will definitely be using him for any of our future jobs. Well done John, thank you.

Very professional, very fast, excellent service! Came next day, fixed it in an afternoon, no complaints overall 10/10, will be my go-to for plumbing issues.

John visited today and fixed a fault with the overflow. Despite me missing his returned voicemail a few days earlier, he still managed to come out today and quickly resolved the issue for a fair price. A friendly, professional, and punctual service.

John was available at relatively short notice (< 1 week) which was helpful and I was grateful. He came to our village (15-20 minutes from central Cambridge) to do the work. He was punctual and completed the job at one visit to a good standard. On the down side I felt that £199.90 for a single TRV (thermostatic radiator valve) replacement (plus necessary refilling of heating system with water + 1 bottle of corrosion inhibitor), which took <90 minutes (but billed as 2 hours; I am aware that some trades charge for a whole hour even if only a part was used) was somewhat steep. John took it upon himself to replace the lockshield too, even though the lockshield had no issues and was not something that I had requested. No quote was offered prior to the work and the invoice does not include a breakdown of parts costs, simply lumping all of the parts and consumables together in one figure. The labour charge was separate from this, however. In summary, John is friendly, punctual, available and capable but certainly towards the more expensive end of the spectrum. I am aware that prices have been rising this year but the last time we had a TRV replaced (2 years ago, on the radiator on the other side of the wall to the radiator that John worked on) we paid £85. I was anticipating paying around £100.

I’ve been using CP&H for about four years now. Last job: replacement of a combination boiler. We always agree on a fixed quote before the job is done, Mr Taylor then invariably shows up bang on time, and starts right away, literally flying from one corner of the house to the other (not to make believe he’s busy-busy but getting the job done, with solid knowledge of and experience in what he is doing, and the right tool for every task). All appropriate paper work (invoice, certificates, registering for manufacturer’s insurance, etc.) done fast and neatly. Very friendly as well. I can’t really find one fault in his service.
