Speedy Jet Plumbers

We have a small 15 inch drain outside the kitchen for a rental property, that was blocked. Organising the booking was fine and thinking that its a small job and shouldn't take more than 30 minutes to clear with a High Pressure Water Jet for which they charge £75 per half hour. Their service engineer got to our premises by about 10.00am and spent the next 30 minutes looking for an outdoor water supply to refill his machine, since his machine had run out of water. He eventually had to connect to the kitchen sink supply and then asked how long does he think it might take to clear the drain and he said about 30 minutes. I confirmed what the charges will be. He said £150 plus the VAT for the complete job. I was not happy about this, since he had already spent 30 minutes looking for the supply! Wanting to just get the job done, I reluctantly agreed. I had to go onto a meeting and left him with the tenant in the flat. I specifically told the engineer to call me for the payment after he completed the job and I expect that’s what you would do under normal circumstances…ask for the payment for the job from the person who made the booking.

I received a call from their office at 11.01am saying that job had over run by 30 minutes, so it’s going to be £150 plus the VAT. I responded saying that’s fine. I was expecting him to ask for my card number, but he put the phone down. I waited for a call back, but nothing. I called the tenant after the meeting which finished at 1pm, to see what was going on. The tenant to my shock and disbelief informed me that he had to pay £360.00 by his card. I asked him why did he pay, when I specifically asked the engineer in front of him to call me for the payment, once the job had been done. This tenant struggles to speak and understand English, so I’m not sure how and why he had to pay.

Anyway, I think I should have only be charged £150+ VAT for the job, but was charged double.

SCAM: beware! This company charged us an obscene amount of money. Promised to send us a report for the landlord. Never did. I have been follow up and get no answers.

They left our bathroom in such a mess after “fixing a toilet” that we had to do extensive cleaning. The problem is happening again a month after they “fixed it”.

The man in charge called Peter just told me my asks are nonsense, he was incredibly rude and threaten me to bring me to court for slander.

Please beware! Check all my ratings of services are pretty good.

We had a blocked drain. Had previously called 3 other companies and they couldn't fix it as they clearly all decided it was too much work.. Speedy Plumbers sent their Engineer Andrew who did not give up and worked for 3 hours + until it was all sorted. We are a community arts and music venue and I was on the verge of cancelling our weekend events if the drain issue was not sorted.
I am so thankful and greatful as a lot of people would have missed on a whole weeks wages including gigs cancelled and musicians and promoters having to give back refunds for tickets.
I can't thank Andrew and the team enough especially Mark who booked in the job and as promised, an engineer came within the day.

Called speedy jet plumbers as needed a toilet leek fixed nothing to major £85 call out +vat £102 , telephone handler said after An hour he suggested check the plumbers advise on how much more it will cost ! Plumber Mike said he would do the whole job all in for £280 that’s the whole job he then proceeded with the work went out to get a few things he then after me asking still agreed 2 more times to the fee of £280 . He asked to write my card number on the invoice which I stupidly did !!! By now the plumber is walking around my flat with which is more or less a blank check at the very last minute he says oh I need to put a flexi pipe on he says he should have done it earlier 😡😡😡 then starts saying going have to charge you more , I was angry a verbal agreement on price 3 times is a legal verbal contract all offered by Mike the plumber , most likely done this technique before he then gives me an invoice with my card number on it for almost double £515 approximately !! 😡😡😡😡😡 I was fuming and basically got him out my flat this was Just a very underhand devious way of getting money out of people other plumbers since have told me even £230 the original quote was to much for what he did .
Dealing with there office complaint system has been tedious to say the least after taking legal advice and reporting them to trading standards speedy jet offered me back £85 +vat =£102 (that’s the call out fee ) even this was like pulling teeth and not enough of an offer with endless emails most of which ignored I am still baffled why an extra flexi pipe cost another £250 ??? In the end I took the offer because I just didn’t wanna deal with them
My advice to you is DO NOT USE THIS PLUMBING SERVICE

And if you must get a quote from them don’t give them any card details until the job is finished and the agreed price or something they’re about within reason is on that invoice .

I absolutely hate them

TERRIBLE PLUMBERS. They ripped us off so badly we are taking them to the small claims court. They have cause so much stress. I’ve been in tears and they refuse to answer any emails and calls etc. I have NEVER come across a worse plumbers or indeed work organisation.

Did plumbing in our bathroom, left pipework with leaks, blamed these on other workmen, installed really cheap macerator which broke down a few weeks after installation. refused to respond to requests for refund

Speedy Jet Plumbers replaced a neighbour's toilet, and then dumped the old one down the path leading to our house. Fly-tipping cowboys. Avoid.

I called speedy jet plumbers and Peter picked up immediately, as my main drain at my Camden Town extra home was blocked.
I was very happy with the service as Peter send one of his expert drainage specialists to hydro jet the main manhole in my gdn .
