I will be reporting this business to trading standards and the local authorities.
I had a pleasant (albeit expensive) consultation, yet the testing methods and conclusions didn't seem to relate to what I was actually experiencing.
I didn't understand why I was being told I would need insoles for life when I'm only in my 30s and I was likely experiencing an exercise injury in one foot, rather than generalised gait issue. (Life long subscriptions to expensive customised insoles is a great business model for them! Not for me.) I wasn't convinced they had an idea what was wrong and were instead trying to sell me their standard offering. It felt like a 'cookie cutter' consultation, not a personalised investigation.
I've since gone to someone else who understood my issue, has experience treating it and I have a plan for how to treat it without the need for insoles. (If insoles would be the only treatment, I'd be open to it. But it seemed very unlikely.)
Maybe Feet & Co can treat other issues very well - all I know is that I was surprised how they couldn't address mine directly. They seemed on the outside like the ideal people to go to.
[Edited to add:] Original review was from an appointment in September 2020. After seeing a physiotherapist I've regained the use of my foot and pain disappeared after a few months. 2 years later, no issues. Very glad I didn't end up with expensive insoles for life! [/Edit]
Mr Eaton at Feet & Co has changed all that . Just over a year ago he very patiently listened to my history and sorted out insoles for me which I can wear in my normal trainers etc. I had tried insoles before but they previously had little effect.
I am now running again, walking as far as I want to and planning to tackle Snowdon next week.
I wear insoles most of the time but not all the time as the advise given was practical and took into consideration my lifestyle.
Mr Eaton I cannot thank you enough.
