Essex Police – Colchester

Whilst I was in a cell over night (I had to wait for the solicitor).I was woken and questioned whilst still half asleep on the bed of the cell and the officer wrote down the conversation and in the morning I got a caution. Do not trust Colchester police. They do not investigate crimes they want the quick turnaround to get the statistics up.

Won myself a free trip to the station at 1am, must say the journey was quick. I didn't have to worry about luggage as the staff members handled everything wonderfully and kept all of my things in clear labeled bags to avoid confusion. When I arrived, I was given a change of clothes (they could have chosen nicer colours or softer fabrics but it was free) which fitted decently. After signing some things I was on my way to my room for the night. I must say it was of decent size but it could be improved; there were no windows and the only furniture available was a bench. Bench was slippery but I was provided with a soft mattress for comfort as I was only on a short visit. I only managed to get a couple hours sleep, but it was not terrible! The bathroom could use some improvements. There was only a toilet with no privacy but since I didn't stay there for more than a night I really can't complain. Never had a chance to try the food but the staff were really friendly. I thought I could get dropped back to where they picked me up from but they were unable to do that, which is understandable. Overall quite possibly the strangest bed and breakfast I had ever stayed at. Cannot say I recommend it but if you happen to stop by then you may be surprised by a thing or two!

The Police Station is a very lovely building indeed, it sits prominent in its location which is fortunately just a few minutes walk into Colchester Town centre.

The staff are extremely helpful & go that extra mile in doing so.

I've not had experience of the cells & the food as yet, in fact I've got absolutely no intentions of finding out as it goes. Lol...

They are open 24/7 & will always be there when you require their services.

Had to go there today for a friend to change he's bail conditions. Was told to get there between 12-2pm, we got there at 12pm. Finally got seen at 2pm no apology for the wait. The policeman that saw us had no customer service skills/could not of been more uninterested if he tried. Receptionist was very helpful. Go to Colchester Police Station if you want to lose a few hours of your day!!!!

Over the Easter weekend my partner and i were subject to unproved abuse and assault and damage to our vehicle.
One first incident when bottles of water and fire works were chucked at us. The response time was quite long. The officers attending was ever so apologetic for the delay, and did what they could but as always with these cowardly attacks there very little in the way of identifying them. And even thought they were obviously very busy they stayed until i had calmed down. I can not praise them enought. The secound incident the attackers smashed a windscreen all i got was crime number.
We have suffered this sort of hate crine4 off and on for the last 5 years and the previous bout of incidents resulted in some police harrising us till removed. We made formal complaint which was investigated so incompantly and baistly that the finds were all police told the truth and we must be mistaken, and unfortunately the bodycam had been deleted before it could be viewed even through we pointed that out to look as the complaint went in the same day.
Some of Essex Police are a credit to country they are pleasant, even hand, non judgemental and truthful. Never, some are the opposite and the force seems to want to protect them by not investigating complaints correctly.

A friend was 'in contact' with police following a mental health issue. Police were very helpful, giving what little info they could ("gdpr" 🙄). Thank you for your kindness.

I was a victim to a hate crime. My business also is experiencing a cyber attack. I've reported to action fraud several times. They advise to call 999 and report as emergency. The operators refuse to report it as an emergency. Between the hate crime and the cyber attack yes I do feel my life is in danger

The staff were not prepared to go the extra mile, I requested an extra blanket that never materialised. The decor was bland and unimaginative and the mattress was hard.

The food was disappointing but I must say I did enjoy the cavity search.
