Exeter Post Office

Exeter Post Office is an absolute disgrace to the postal service. They have now penalised me TWICE in the last month for parcels using "invalid " where and how to escalate my complaint stamps. The stamps used WERE NOT at all, but the decided that they were. They are just ripping me off to gain more income.
Absolute shysters!!!!

Turned up at 2:30pm, they’d just closed because of ‘staff shortage’. On a Monday, with numerous staff members walking back and forth who wouldn’t look me or the elderly gentleman in front of me in the eye! You’re telling me one of the 2/3 staff members couldn’t have served us? Ridiculous. They close when they want!

Never enough staff, queue is always so long. They've tried to replace staff with the electronic systems which never work and then require a staff member to come and overwrite them.

seem to be only 2 staffed counters (plus a bunch of self service terminals) so be prepared to queue; however the staff are hard working and do their best; the young man who served me today (and has served me in the past) always knows exactly what he's doing and is polite, fast, and helpful

Went yesterday (31/01/2022) and was told they were closing because of staff shortages. There was a massive queue and the staff member just unceremoniously closed the self service checkout in front of me saying they need their break.
Went the following day and there was only one person serving with a very long queue building up. What happened to all the staff who used to work at the Bedford Street location? The service used to be so much better. Now it's just shambles and very unreliable

Long queues when it is open. Went today (Sunday) based on Google opening times. Paid for parking and made a special trip. Nope it’s shut. Really helpful 😑

I would give zero stars if I could. The service is atrocious, it was much better when we used to have a dedicated Post Office in Bedford Street rather than one stuck in the corner of W. H. Smiths. There were over 30 people waiting in the queue but still only one window open serving customers on a busy Friday afternoon.

Shame to find even the self service closed on a Saturday afternoon.
It's convenient having a post office inside WHSmith. They seem to have all services including the bureau de change, of course I'd known more if I'd found it open.
