I would rather travel further away to a post office that offer GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I would award zero stars! Unable to opt for zero stars, due to being able to post this review.
I was picking up a parcel today and I wasn’t even greeted nicely and as soon as I started to say I was picking up a parcel, I was cut off with “can I see your ID” no please just incredibly poor customer service. Fulham deserves a friendly post office than this one.
I sincerely hope the branch manager reads these reviews and inputs changes.
Just because the post office is a necessity to those around it doesn’t mean changes to customers service can’t be implemented!
I'm writing today because today was just that 'one too many' incidences for me not to write.
This morning, the shop opened a couple of minutes late, which I thought a little unprofessional for a postal service, but then I realised the big clock that sits at the back of the PO is out by two minutes. Sorry... but for me, it's an eye rolling moment. The postal services run to time. Its post offices should do the same.
I then stood and watched as two customers, each with huge parcels, stood in line for a few minutes, before being told by the lady at the side counter, which doesn't seem connected to the PO, that they could put their boxes behind her counter without queuing. Why on earth she made them wait in line, without telling them as soon as they entered and stood right in front of her counter, is just another instance of how much they really take care of their customers.
As for me, I had an ebay return package. Clearly labelled as such. It wasn't a big package, a 6x8 jiffy bag envelope, which had stated on the address label, to hand over at the post office to get a record of the return tracking information. Important if you want a refund.
As I pushed it under his window towards him, the chap, who's the owner, shook his head and pushed it back, without looking at it. I said that on the label it said I had to take it to a PO to get tracking information. As if in disbelief, he asked me where it said it! I was a bit stumped. If he'd taken the package, he would have seen it. I pointed it out, saying it was an eBay return.
"What's in it?" he asked.
I told him it was a phone screen. He then took the package, looked at it, then pushed it back under the window at me and asked me to hold it up so he could scan it. Again, this beggars belief. Why take it and then push it back to me to hold up to scan, when he could have scanned it himself???
When I asked what the problem might have been, why it had been questionable, he said "If it's a Covid test, we aren't allowed to take it." Since when have eBay dispensed Covid tests???
If he'd simply taken the package and bothered to look at the label, without making me go through a humourless inquisition, one where I was being spoken to as if I was the stupid one, this review may not have been written.
I only go into this PO if I have no alternative. In this case, I needed a speedy return, or else I'd have taken it to another PO further away. I dread walking in there as I don't know what level of humiliation or condescension I will be subjected to... and remember, I've lived round here all my life... that's a lot of incidents of rudeness.
Truly lacking in any kind of valuable customer service, Royal Mail should really investigate these people and pull them up on their customer service skills. Better still, award the contract to someone else.
Best avoided, unless you really have to use them.
By the way if I could rate minus 7 star I would.
