Stanbridge Road Post Office

Charges customers for carrier bags when there is no need to. Not clued up on the recent law changes. Tried to inform him but said he knew better. Bet the 5p doesn't go to charity or to hmrc.

Very helpful and extremely friendly. They open late which is why I was there as my first visit.

This is a big joke not a post office. Complained to the head office but there is no improvement.

Iv been waiting here for nearly 20 mins its an absolute joke. Dosnt really represent the post office.

Different experience on 3 separate occasions.....

1. Drove from other side of town, told post office is closed despite it being 3 minutes before close time. Told it's closed by 'our' clock. wouldn't budge despite asking if they could just do the parcel I had. Steadfastly refused and stuck to the 'our clock says 6 oclock, post office is closed' line.

2. Update (6 months later): Customer service still appalling on Sunday.
No one staffs the PO on sunday and I was ignored by lady serving convenience store customers while I stand at PO counter for 5 minutes. I finally speak up asking if anyone was likely to serve me and I get a hand in the face. Once convenient for the retail lady to be bothered with me, she pushes a buzzer which rings 'upstairs' to alert PO person.
No one comes down and I again after a further 5 minutes ask if anyone will be serving me? no comment from convenience store lady but she pushes buzzer again. 2 minutes later someone arrives and I'm asked 'how can I help'. Polite but absolutely no apology for 15 minute wait! Don't go here if you are in any sort of rush or expectation of decent customer service!

3. Update 02/12/2019 - Closes at 5pm on Sundays rather than 6pm as advertised online, not good. However the guy serving at the convenience store counter said he would deal with my one parcel even though it was 5.10pm (much better service). Got the price correct £27 (Heath & Reach PO tried to charge me £45!) and was very pleasant. Parcel recipient confirmed today it arrived safely. All good this time! raising from 1 star to 3.

The small size means there's often a queue but the postmistress is always incredibly helpful, friendly and with a smile on her face. A delight to deal with
