One of the rudest staff members I've ever encountered works here.
Yesterday (7-12-20) I was on a short care call with an elderly gentleman and he asked me to get him some stamps. The queue was so long at the post office, even out onto the pavement outside, with only two staff members working. I decided to go to the cashier and ask if I could possibly come to the front as I just needed stamps for an elderly gentleman, I showed her my ID and explained that some retail outlets allowed this. She looked at me with such disgust, and said "I've never heard such a thing, you can join the back of the queue", she was so rude I asked for her manager. She said the manager was away.
Then the kind customer at the front of the queue said I could go in front of her, which was so lovely of her.
I then heard the cashier say to her current customer "she clearly has no patience". When I was being served by her, I pointed out to her that I was NOT impatient at all, I am a carer in the community and was only on a short care call with an elderly gentleman who needed stamps.
She then rudely said "Don't use the key worker card on me, I'm a key worker too you know". I was absolutely both amazed and disgusted with her attitude. No-one else had had an issue with me asking to go to the front, I didn't have lots of parcels to post, I wasn't taking up much time, I just wanted stamps.
I imagine that this particular lady (overweight, white hair and glasses) is rude to everyone, including other staff members. Judging also by the reviews left. I have made a formal complaint against her, she shouldn't be working there, she has NO customer service skills what so ever.
When I returned to the elderly gentleman I explained what had happened, and he knew exactly who I was talking about...clearly she's well known for her rudeness!

If I could give 0 stars I would...
Every time I go into this Post Office at Birchwood all the staff are rude. I dread when I need to go in there and have traveled further away when I have more time but in some cases it can't be avoided. The staff need some basic customer service training. I have never left a review before but I feel like I must do something as they need to change.
I have lived in the area for two years and every time I go into the Post Office I have been served by a different member of staff. Each time I hope they are different but alas, they are rude. They mutter under their breath if asked a question, they do not help just provide very blunt answers delivered in a rude tone and generally speak to you like you are beneath them.

The rudest and most arrogant lady I have ever encountered works at this post office, and has done for years. Her vile tongue and attitude beggars belief.I avoid this place whenever I can.

I do not doubt that the Main Post Office are aware of this and couldn't care less.

The newsagent's staff are a delight, and always helpful

Useless. Wouldn't swap £40 of £10 notes for £5 notes. Said I needed a change card. I'm a business customer and this Post Office us the only one that refuses to give change. Lazy, unorganized staff. Quite happy to have 20 people in the queue whilst they pop there coat on to nip outside for a smoke.
Never coming here again and I feel for the people that have to use this sub standard Post Office

Very rude staff and it’ll will make things 10 x worse for you if you’re a person of colour. I usually go during really quiet times and I’ll be on my own or maybe 1 or two other customers and still their staff is super rude. They’ll literally pull faces if you ask them any questions. Does the post office care about the level of service their staff provide. I mean the reviews here will sum everything up.

Checked online for opening times as is a 25 minute drive from me but nearest post office that does driving licence renewals. Both their own and the main post office site said it was open till 7pm. I arrived at 2.05pm otoday (Saturday) and it was shut, so I have wasted my time and fuel and will have to repeat the journey on my next day off. Would be so easy for them to update the website with their actual opening times. Fuming is not the word, if I could go elsewhere I would but next nearest post office that does this service is over an hour away.

I'd love to have experienced any of the bad reviews posted for this place but it was shut when I got there. The website says 6am to 7pm. I got there at 6:30pm and its completely shut.

No alternative opening times in the window or anything about reduction of staff due to covid etc. I have been trying to call them all week at various times to see if they actually do the photo ID renewal service and to confirm times and the phone just rings until its disconnects.
