Very friendly, helpful staff. Full range of Post Office services along with a good range of ancillary products. Advice about packing/posting and the best way to send items along with the opportunity to buy packing materials. Advice about government services and all other Post Office related issues. Good place.

Do not darken their door if you are feeling delicate - the sub-postmistress will chew you up and spit you out. However, if she is having a good day then you might get out unscathed. Either way, the service is exceptionally thorough.

I was dreading my trip up here due to the reviews and let me tell you they are bang on.
Woman gave me attitude when I asked her how to post keys in a birthday card.
Then gave me attitude because I didn't know it was a "small parcel" and she had to put a second stamp.
I'm not a royal mail employee and quite frankly neither should she be.
Am I supposed to commit to memory how the service operates or is that her job??

Now onto tthe store itself. Impossible to find an appropriate card as they are just dumped randomly in any order.

This is not my local post office, but I prefer it over my own & I will go out of my way to come here. The postmistress has always been so helpful & accommodating whenever I have to send parcels to Australia & so far have not gotten lost (unlike Birchgove post). We always have a natter & I feel that nothing is too much bother.

Visited yesterday. Was amazed at how slow and rude the postmistress was to the 3 people in front of me. However, I remained friendly and polite. The third of my small, light parcels slipped onto the counter and the postmistress said "I'd rather not have things thrown at me". I'm a polite, friendly person and was quite taken aback. It's on my home but I will never use again. Have never left reviews on Google other than good ones. If I had a complaint I'd usually make it directly. But looked on here and was relieved it's not just me!

Popped in the local post office today and the lady behind the desk was unbelievably polite and courteous. In contrast to the reviews above, to be honest I was disappointed as I mentally steeled myself for battle.

Thumbs up to the service, I would recommend.

blunt and direct but always helpful, the postmistress is like that aunt that gave you hard advice you never wanted to hear but it was the truth! Not 100pf sure what the other lady does in there but would be ideal if she could work the scales so more parcels are done as you do have to wait a while. The postmistress once answered the phone to someone asking if they were open and her response was “well of course we are otherwise I wouldn’t have picked up the phone” genus haha

I prepaid a royal mail parcel, she wouldn't take it because the package was over weight. It wasn't it fell within royal mail parcel bracket. I went home and paid for royal mail to collect instead. Rather frustrating
