Breathtakingly shabby service at the Post Office counter, this afternoon. A dramatic contrast to the first rate service I always used to get there before the place changed hands. I went in submit an application , but they refused to process it. They said I had not provided the required supporting documents. But according to the information on the fback of the form, I HAD supplied everything that was required. I pointed this out and asked them to go through the back of the form with me. They dd this AND agreed that what I had supplied DID comply with what was listed on the form. But that was not good enough for them. They said they snneded more - at one point I was told that for all they knew, my supporting evidence could belong to anybody!!!. And all this was in full sight and hearing of everybody else in the shop. I left, went home and called the Local Authority helpline number given on my rejected application. Thankfully the lady |I spoke to was better informed, far more professional, totally sympathetic and really helpful. She confirmed that the supporting evidence that I had submitted to the Post Office was totally correct, acceptable and compliant with requirements. I have taken upo her kind offer to bypass Bryn Post Office altogether and to send my application direct to the Local Authority using the contact details she has given me. As a courtesy, I rang the Post Office to let them know the position, but I was shouted down once again. If you enjoy being treated withour any brespect or courtesy, this is the place for you. Otherwise I would give the Bryn Post Office a very wide berth.
